Meridian Wellness is the Event Organizer for 2007 Kids' Day International in Richmond Hill

Saturday, September 21, 2007 was officially declared as Kids' Day for Richmond Hill by Mayor Dave Barrow and the Town Council. Drs. Keith Tse & Misa Kawasaki organized this local event to promote health, safety and environmenal awareness to children ages 5-13. With the support of many local businesses and special interest groups, we were able to offer a day of learning and fun for the entire family.

Children were able to complete Safety ID cards and fingerprinting with the help of volunteers from Child Find Canada. They had an opportunity to speak with members of the Richmond Hill Fire Department about fire safety and were able to sit inside a real fire truck. Parents and kids learned about spinal and nervous system from Dr. Keith and students from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. They also learned about natural health alternatives from Dr. Misa and volunteers from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Oak Ridges' orthodontist Dr. David Michelberger talked to families about oral health and healthy smiles. Finally, members from Water For Tomorrow, the Richmond Hill Recycling Program and the Youth Environmental Network talked to children about the importance of doing their part to save the environment.

Student demonstrations by Northern Karate and Vlad's Dance School were followed by thunderous applause from an appreciative audience. And to top it all off there was free food and prize giveaways, with the Grand Prize bicycle going to Zahra Dharamshi who attended the Kids' Day event with her father Yasin.   Dr. Keith was even interviewed by Rogers Local News!

Thanks again to everyone who helped make this day possible for the children of Richmond Hill!  See you next year!

Troy Miller our registered massage therapist was busy on Saturday providing free 10 minute chair massages! Many show attendees won raffle prizes such as complimentary IonCleanse detoxification sessions, 20 minute chair massages and chiropractic spinal consulations.
