Dr. Keith Tse, DC CAFCI
At my chiropractic clinic in Richmond Hill/Oak Ridges, there is a significant overlap between what I do as a chiropractor and what physiotherapy does. I deal with a variety of injuries in my practice relating to about 90% of the all joints, muscles, bones and nerves in your body. I consider the two most important tools in my therapeutic toolbox to be the chiropractic adjustment and the BIOFLEX low intensity laser. However, to rehab an injury completely a few other things may be required:
- Physiotherapy
- Soft tissue mobilization/therapy
- Electrical muscle stimulation
- Ultrasound
- Hot/cold therapy
- Ergonomic/postural advice
- AND EXERCISE!
Yes, exercise…that hated word. Only by appropriately stretching and strengthening the right areas at the right time, will you regain, most if not all, of your function from before. It will require time, energy and perseverance on your part. This is where the idea of a TEAM effort comes in. I can only teach and show you what you need to do. YOU actually have to do it.
The majority of rehabilitation exercise that I have patients do are simple and require little equipment or a special gym membership. It can be done in the comfort of you own home. It doesn’t get much easier than this.
A few things you might need that you don’t already have at home are: light weights (10lbs or less), therabands, exercise ball, exercise mat. These are all inexpensive items that can be purchased at Walmart or you can go to a fitness store like Fitness Depot/Fitness Source if you want a bit better quality.
Remember, you will typically see me just a few times a week. What you do the remainder of the week will be a big factor in how much progress we make.
I have been providing chiropractic rehab and physiotherapy to the Oak Ridges, Richmond Hill, King City and Aurora community for the past 7 years.

“For years I have suffered with arthritis in my knee where even walking would produce pain and numbness.
