Food Sensitivity Testing ($250 + GST)

Most allergy specialists test for an immune system marker called IgE. IgE is produced immediately after an allergic food is ingested (called an “acute hypersensitivity reaction”) and will cause reactions such as hives, facial swelling and throat constriction. The food allergy testing available at Meridian tests for another marker called IgG which is produced for hour or days after being exposed to an allergenic food. An IgG immune response (called a “delayed hypersensitivity response”) may cause symptoms/​conditions such as:

• Gas and bloating
• Eczema and other skin conditions
• Migraines
• Recurrent ear infections in children
• Constipation or diarrhea
• Inflammatory joint pain (i.e. Rheumatoid Arthritis)
• Sinusitis and post-​nasal drip
• Irritable bowel syndrome/​Crohn’s disease/​Ulcerative colitis
• Asthma

This profile tests 96 of the most commonly allergenic foods and involves collecting blood through a pinprick to the finger. It is suitable for adults and children.

Hair Analysis ($85 + GST)

Hair is an effective method for testing heavy metal toxicity in the body because its levels do not fluctuate like they do in blood. Toxic elements such as mercury, arsenic, aluminum, cadmium, and lead may be 200 – 300 times more concentrated in the hair than in blood or urine. This profile also tests for important nutrient levels such as magnesium, zinc, copper, chromium, and selenium. This test requires a 1 gram sample of hair close to the scalp obtained from a few different sections on the head.

Ovulation Test Kit ($10 + GST)

A urinary test that measures the surge in LH (Iuteinizing hormone) to assess ovulation timing during the female ovulation cycle.

Bioimpedance Analysis ($25 + GST)

An integral part of Dr. Misa’s weight loss program, this measures % body fat, % lean body mass, body mass index, cellular hydration levels, and water distribution in the body. It is an effective monitoring tool to assess progresses in body composition throughout the weight management program.

Best suited for persons suffering from unexplained moodiness, mood swings or low libido. This profile tests for cortisol, epinephrine, norepinephrine, serotonin, glycine, GABA, histamine and creatinine in the urine.

Anxiety /​Nervousness Profile ($230 + GST)

Best suited for persons suffering from unexplained anxiousness and nervousness, this profile tests for epinephrine, norepinephrine, serotonin, glycine, GABA, glutamate, PEA, and creatinine in the urine.

Fatigue /​Stress Profile ($280 + GST)

This test assesses the adrenal glands which are the organs that help our body deal with stressful stimuli. Best suited for persons suffering from low energy or fatigue, this profile tests for DHEA, cortisol, epinephrine, norepinephrine, serotonin, and creatinine in the urine and saliva.

Libido Profile ($230 + GST)

Best suited for persons suffering from reduced sexual motivation, low libido and poor sexual performance. This profile tests for estradiol, testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, and creatinine in the urine and saliva.

Sleep Disturbance Profile ($260 + GST)

Best suited for persons suffering from sleeplessness, this profile tests for cortisol, melatonin, epinephrine, norepinephrine, serotonin, glycine, GABA, glutamate, PEA, histamine, and creatinine in the urine and saliva.

Attention Issues Profile ($250 + GST)

Best suited for persons with possible ADHD/​ADD and poor concentration, this profile tests for epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, glycine, GABA, glutamate, PEA, and creatinine in the urine.
